Fasoracetam comes from the Racetam family of nootropics. This nootropic is one of the most effective types for treating ADHD and currently there are many clinical trials looking to learn more about its effects. So far, many studies on rats have shown that it also has the power to decrease depression, improve memory and help people fight memory impairment.

It’s an overall cognitive enhancer that was developed for the purpose of treating people with Alzheimer’s disease. It has become a very popular smart drug with students and busy people as it can help them memorize things more effectively, be more focused and improve their mood.

Fasoracetam is one of the new promising nootropics from the Racetam family. It offers a variety of beneficial effects including improved memory, cognitive enhancements, better mood, reduced depression and reduced anxiety. On top of that, it has the potential to become a full-blown drug for treating ADHD as a non-stimulant.

Although there are many studies that show how beneficial Fasoracetam can be for all of these things, there is still much more to be explored about this drug. However, a lot of people have started using it, and all of the reports have been quite positive. Experienced nootropic users have reported that this Racetam has a very powerful effect, but that it doesn’t cause any addiction and doesn’t create a tolerance within the brain.

Even though this is a relatively new drug to enter the market, it’s not that young – it was first synthesized over 20 years ago for treating Alzheimer’s and dementia. It was developed by Nippon Shinyaku, a pharmaceutical company from Japan, and in 2016 various US companies started doing new clinical trials of this drug.

Even though this drug is still not FDA approved, there are more and more positive findings about its mechanisms of work and effects, and the pharmaceutical industry continues to explore the potentials of this drug.

This hasn’t stopped the brain hacking community from testing out this drug and using it for its benefits. So far, the number of users and suppliers of Fasoracetam continues to grow with positive trends.

Fasoracetam Benefits and Effects

What is so exciting about Fasoracetam is that it can be used by various people, depending on their age and the problems they are having. Both healthy and people with various conditions can use it to help them deal with their problems. It doesn’t matter if the user is a college student, a working person or a senior citizen, they can get some amazing benefits from Fasoracetam.

Here are all of the benefits that this drug brings to the table.

Improved focus and concentration

Fasoracetam has the power to stimulate the levels of choline in the brain, helping users feel focused and on point, without needing any additional stimulants. As opposed to stimulants, this drug allows you to focus and perform the tasks in front of you without feeling the need to walk around and release that built up physical energy. Simply put, you will feel calm, but stay focused on your work.

Increased levels of choline can also lead to improved concentration, meaning that people who use this drug can be better at learning and utilize their intelligence to the fullest.

It is a great drug for people who want to enhance their cognitive functions and get the boost they need, without feeling wired and being unable to stay in one place.

These benefits are also great for the elderly who have had some cognitive decline. By using this drug, they will be able to speak better, make better sense of what’s happening around them and simply feel younger in terms of judgement and thinking.

Improved mood

The mood enhancement effects of this drug aren’t instant – it works on bringing the user into a more positive state of mind slowly over time. Every time a user takes Fasoracetam, the drug increases the effectiveness of GABA receptors. It has been proven that a low level of function in GABA receptors can cause severe depression.

It has already been speculated that compounds which increase GABA receptor function could be the new wave of antidepressant substances with a wide potential use. This is why this drug can be very good for people who suffer from depression and various anxiety disorders.

If you are feeling down all the time and experience social anxiety, this drug can help you reduce stress and get you in a more positive state of mind, motivating you to do more each day. What’s even better is the fact that after you stop using it, the GABA receptors will still remain elevated and you won’t depend on the drug to feel well.

Enhanced memory

As we mentioned earlier, Fasoracetam effects chemicals which are already located in the brain, including choline and acetylcholine, and through this effect, it provides better neuroprotection within the brain. On top of that, like most nootropics from the Racetam family, it also possesses qualities which improve memory retention.

When a person uses this drug, they will have better memory recall and be able to form memories more effectively. This means that if you learn something while on this drug, you will be able to maintain this knowledge successfully. On top of that, it helps the elderly combat memory deterioration more effectively and develop a better overall memory as they get older.

Effects on users with ADHD

The prospect of treating ADHD is always a hot topic, and given the fact that there were signs that Fasoracetam may work well, a study was conducted with 30 adolescents. The 29 participants that had completed this study showed a great decrease in symptoms of ADHD and had better Vanderbilt scores, a method used to measure symptoms of ADHD.

At the start of the study, the scores were measured at 29.1 and after 5 weeks the number drastically dropped to 22.5. The participants were given two doses of 50 mg per day during the first week and the dosage was gradually increased to 500 mg given twice a day in the last week. The symptoms started to reduce at the start of the second week and constantly improved until the study was completed.

How Fasoracetam Works

Because of the fact that Fasoracetam had only been recognized for its untapped potential in 2013 and new clinical studies were started in 2016, there is still no complete picture of all of the mechanisms of this drug. Still, more and more facts and proof are discovered each month, reinforcing the reports of users and their experiences when using this drug.

However, there is clear proof that this drug affects all three of the most important neurotransmitters in the brain, including acetylcholine (choline), GABA and glutamate. Because of these mechanisms, the drug gives such a variety of cognitive enhancements, so let’s see how it works.

Acetylcholine functions

This is a very potent cholinergic, meaning that it greatly increases choline uptake in the hippocampus and in the brain cortex. This additional choline that is produced is used by the brain to increase the levels of acetylcholine, a valuable neurotransmitter that has effects on general cognition, memory and learning.

This kind of cholinergic mechanism is a typical thing for Aniracetam, Piracetam and other Racetams and this is why this family of nootropics is so effective at improving cognition. Still, like most Racetams this mechanism of action leads to spending a lot of choline, which could lead to headaches. This is why it’s completely normal to add a choline stack when using Racetams.

Glutamate functions

Fasoracetam modulates glutamate in certain brain receptors. Glutamate is an important neurotransmitter that is used for various brain functions. Imbalanced glutamate levels are associated with various mental and physical disorders such as ADHD, depression, Alzheimer’s, and epilepsy.

Fasoracetam affects metabotropic glutamate receptors that have a lot of roles in the brain and body including memory, anxiety and learning. The metabotropic glutamate receptors work as a group to create a balance and reduce neurotoxicity while increasing neural excitation.

It is believed that Fasoracetam modulates these glutamate receptors, creating a balance in the whole system and this is why it can be helpful for treating ADHD, as people who have symptoms of this disease usually have very low glutamate levels.

GABA functions

Glutamate is also a precursor of GABA, a valuable inhibitory neurotransmitter which affects learning, but also helps reduce anxiety, promotes healthy sleep and has calming effects. Fasoracetam also upregulates GABA-B receptor activity, releasing more GABA in the central nervous system and in the brain.

This mechanism of action combined with glutamate receptor modulation is one of the most important actions for the ability of Fasoracetam to help with depression, social anxiety, lack of motivation and anxiety overall.

Fasoracetam Dosage

Fasoracetam is no different than other nootropics when it comes to dosage. A lot of people have tried different dosages and had a different experience. This is because some of them suffer from disorders that Fasoracetam can help with, others are completely healthy and some simply have more experience with taking nootropics.

For beginners that have little or no experience with taking brain-enhancing drugs, the recommended starting dose is 10 mg taken sublingually per day. However, people who suffer from depression, anxiety and similar disorders can start with 50 mg per day in order to feel the effects they need. The maximum recommended dosage for all users is 100 mg per day.

Fasoracetam Stacking

Although Fasoracetam is a potent nootropic with a variety of effects, more experienced nootropic users might consider enhancing its effects with some stacks.

Fasoracetam + Noopept + Choline

This is a stack that emphasizes great focus. Both Fasoracetam and Noopept need a choline boost in order to get an energizing effect. Not only can this stack improve focus but it can also improve overall dexterity and awareness without the jittery side effect. This is a good stack if you are looking to be on top of your game for a long time.

Morning dose: 10 mg Fasoracetam, 10 mg Noopept, and 500 mg of Alpha GPC Choline

Evening dose: 10 mg Noopept

Fasoracetam + Coluracetam

This stack has a number of benefits – it increases acetylcholine even further, Fasoracetam has great effects on GABA-B and Coluracetam improves mood. They both also help with neurological disorders and concentration. You can take it in two doses per day of 10 mg of Fasoracetam and 10 mg of Coluracetam or split the amount in half.

Fasoracetam Side Effects

Fasoracetam is a safe drug that adults tolerate well if they take the recommended dosages. Some of the potential minor side effects are common to all nootropics in the Racetam family including headaches, stomach discomfort and sight fatigue.

However, these usually occur when users take higher doses. The headaches can be regulated with added choline use and fatigue is only a normal reaction after being very active during the whole day.

After doing my research on this new nootropic, I liked what I learned and wanted to test the drug by myself. Given the fact that I have experience with using nootropics, at first, the effects of Fasoracetam reminded me of other Racetams.

Fasoracetam is not that different structurally from other Racetams and I didn’t experience anything drastically different. I took two 10 mg pills, one in the morning and other in the evening, and I instantly started to notice that I was more focused.

I am a bit anxious in nature and this was the reason why I wanted to try Fasoracetam. I must admit that I was able to stay completely relaxed amongst other people and function normally.

Where to Buy Fasoracetam

Given the fact that Fasoracetam is not fully legal, it cannot be purchased in local pharmacies or received through prescriptions. If you want to try out this drug, you will have to find a reliable vendor online and order it there.

Fasoracetam is definitely worth a try and I liked it personally. Who knows what the new trials are yet to discover about this nootropic, but as far as I am concerned, it is a low-risk drug that offers great, strong benefits. Still, make sure to use it in proper dosages, don’t mix it with other substances apart from those that I mentioned today and wait until more information comes along.
